Wed, 15 October 2008 For all practical purposes, Summer is over here in Tulsa. Once most of the kids are back in school, it just seems to be the unofficial end of that Summer-like feel. Not to worry though, whether it's Summer, Fall, Winter or Spring, Tulsas music will be here for you and the rest of the world. This weeks show has a theme of sorts: Acoustic Tulsa, that says it all. We feature acoustic versions that some of our heroes (and sheroes) usually play "electrified", if you will. Davit Souders and Dustin Parkhurst give you the best, no strings attached, well actually, the strings are attached. It sounds much better that way. Listen for yourself. Mon, 2 July 2007 The last week of June and the first week of July, it should be HOT here in Tulsa. Like 100 degrees hot. But just like everywhere else on planet earth, the weather seems to be a tad off kilter. Is this the greenhouse effect in full effect? We don’t know, but something’s up. Understand, we’re not complaining, but one does get used to one’s own climate. We don’t want it to be cooler now just for it to be red hot say in November. We do know this Tulsa music has the best of both worlds, it’s cool and it’s hot. We are lucky enough to get to prove it every week on our little Podcast that could and does. Fri, 8 June 2007 ![]() 50 is nifty and we absolutely think so. Speaking of 50, 50 years ago in 1957 as part of our state's 50th year celebration of Statehood, they buried a 1957 Belevedere in downtown Tulsa. This was part of Tulsa's salute to our state's celebration part of an event called Tulsarama, they even had a Miss Tulsarama beauty pageant. The automobile was also used as a time capsule to be opened in 2007. Tulsan's placed various items in the trunk of the car such as oil, gas (in case we used a different form of fuel in the distant future), photos, the contents of a woman's purse, etc... The '57 Belevedere was wrapped in a protective blanket of sorts and lowered by crane into the enclosure, to be sealed up for all time, well ok, the State's Centennial...2007. That's all gonna be unearthed this week. While the crews start their grand dig you too can participate by simply digging this week's Hometown Heroes, unearthed just for you: My Solstice - Rock Bottom This Diabolicast Produced by Dustin Parkhurst for Diabolical Productions, LLC Comments[0] |

Thu, 19 April 2007 ![]() Ballroom Blitz Part I You know the phrase, The Blitz is on? Well, its true in this case, as in the 2nd Annual Ballroom Blitz at Cain's Ballroom here in Tulsa, on Saturday, April 28. This event and its Fall campanion, Freakers' Ball are the two largest single day showcase events for Tulsa area bands. Being a pro-Tulsa broadcast/podcast it only made perfect sense for us to showcase this 4 stage, 25 plus band event. Sometimes you have to put your money where your mouth is, so here we go. Don't forget, and we won't let you anyway. Education is important. That's why we give you not one, but two really fun facts each show. They always relate to Tulsa and/or Oklahoma. Where else will you find out which city in the U.S. is number one for allergy sufferers to live? or just try to guess where President Franklin D. Roosevelt made a secret visit to in 1943... Tue, 10 April 2007 ![]() It's a Tulsa, Tulsa, Tulsa, Tulsa World. At least where we come from. T-town's not perfect, but its perfect for us. If you come from Tulsa, it's easy to fit in to cities like Dallas or Austin. And we don't mean in a Yeehaw, ride'em cowboy kind of way. Stereotypes can be hard to break, but we think we do a good job every week with the music showcased here. Sure we have our Garth Brooks, but we also have our Flaming Lips. Last weeks was part one of our Ladies First theme featuring, well female vocalists. Welcome to Part 2. Our listenership is in the thousands, we have been accepted by iTunes, we have a global audience, including the UK, Europe, and Canada. A national audience from Seattle, WA and Austin, TX to Washington D.C. and a massive local following that reminds us why we do this.
